We are an energetic, hard-working group of folks working for a small(ish) non-profit. We seek to change the world through violence prevention education and we’re doing it every day through team-work, innovation, and passion for the young people and adults we serve.

We’re excited to say that we’ve nearly doubled in size in just over a year, and we are now looking for our eighth team member, a full-time Educator, to join us.

The Katie Brown Educational Program (KBEP) is dedicated to the recognition and prevention of relationship violence by teaching the skills and information needed to make healthy decisions in relationships. KBEP has developed an innovative and interactive curriculum, taught primarily to youth in classroom-based settings throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Description:

KBEP is seeking to hire a full-time, year-round Educator. The educator is responsible for high-quality delivery of the program curricula to elementary, middle and high school students, with some programming for adults and youth in other non-traditional settings. This position also entails supporting the overall functioning of the organization, with participation in violence prevention awareness events, fundraising events, data collection, curriculum development, and other organizational projects. Qualifications:
Candidates must have experience working with youth in schools or other group settings, as well as a passion and commitment to violence prevention. An undergraduate degree and a minimum of one year of experience working directly with youth, particularly youth of diverse populations. Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to be a supportive and flexible team member. Experience with public speaking and the capacity to deal effectively in challenging situations is a must. Candidates must have daily reliable transportation
and must pass a standard CORI check. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
