How did you learn about the KBEP?
I remember researching violence prevention programs when I began working for an emergency domestic violence shelter in Providence, RI. I saw their website and was incredibly impressed with the classroom programming and dedication to violence prevention. I was fortunate to cross paths with KBEP during my work in Providence.
What is your favorite thing about working at the KBEP?
I have two: the students and my coworkers. Students are full of incredible insight. I learn as much from them as I hope they learn from me. The staff at KBEP is supportive and motivated. We might be a small organization but we are powerful!
Why do you feel like relationship violence prevention is so important?
I believe in a young person’s extraordinary capability to invoke positive change. We must provide them with the tools to build and maintain successful and healthy relationships, free of violence.
What was your favorite subject in high school?
English! I loved it so much that I started my college career as an English major.
Do you have any pets? If so, what’s your favorite part about them?
I have one cat: Sage. She is very friendly, fluffy and an awesome cuddler.
Tell us something most people don’t know about you.
I love yoga and superhero movies!
