Important Notice: KBEP COVID-19 Statement

Dear KBEP Community,

In response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, the Katie Brown Educational Program will suspend all school-based programming effective Monday, March 16, 2020.

In addition to our school-based programming, KBEP staff members will work from home and refrain from participating in community meetings, trainings, conferences, or any other gatherings effective Monday, March 16, 2020. Although we will be regularly checking KBEP’s office voicemail we recommend contacting our staff via email, as that will be the most efficient and immediate way to get in touch with us.  Emails for our staff can be found at https://kbep.org/contact/.

The safety and health of our staff, students, and community partners is of the utmost importance and is our number one priority right now.  The Coronavirus is highly contagious. We want to ensure that we are acting responsibly towards the communities we serve. While there are no confirmed cases on the South Coast at this present time, we are taking these actions based on the CDC and Governor’s recommendations.

Here are helpful links to both stay informed about the virus, and to make sure you’re aware of KBEP updates.

Coronavirus Updates

Personal Hygiene

As we continue to follow CDC guidelines, we encourage all members of the KBEP community to practice enhanced personal hygiene. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Most importantly, protect yourself by staying home if you feel ill, especially if you have a fever. More than anything else, we want to make sure that you are healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

Claire Spaulding McVicker, Executive Director
