A Message from the Katie Brown Educational Program’s Executive Director:

To Our Community of Supporters,

As the world continues to evolve in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to take a moment to provide you with an update on the status of the Katie Brown Educational Program (KBEP) and extend our immense gratitude for your support during this unprecedented time.

Our programming and efforts to raise awareness, educate, and prevent violence are inherently tied to the schools we serve. As they have temporarily shifted their work to an online environment, so too has KBEP. Our team is working hard to develop online programming to keep our important work front-and-center for students.

Also, while it was a difficult decision, our team has decided to cancel our Annual Golf Tournament which was previously scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2020, at the Fall River Country Club.  As a small organization, we have weighed our options, and rather than reschedule for the fall, we will hold our 18th Annual Golf Tournament next spring on Monday, May 10, 2021.

That being said, it is important to recognize that this will have a significant impact on our annual revenue. If you are part of the many organizations, businesses, and individuals, who are experiencing severe cuts in revenue and income – we hear you, support you, and are with you.  If these uncertain times have not affected your ability to give, I ask that you please consider making a contribution to KBEP. You can make a direct donation here. All donations are tax-deductible, and 100% of funds go directly to carrying out our mission. Despite the uncertain times ahead, we remain steadfast in our mission, and we will do so as we always have: with your support and the support of the communities we serve.

When the urgency has lifted, we will return to our office, schools, and classrooms, and continue our mission face to face, because the thousands of young people we reach each year are counting on us.

In solidarity,

Claire Spaulding McVicker
